Robust Power Design

The LGA 2066 socket is compatible with the latest Intel Core X-Series Processors with up to 18 cores, over 44 PCI Express® lanes, and 165-watt thermal design power (TDP). Those specs require serious power, especially if you're overclocking, so the Prime X299 Edition 30 is equipped with a premium power solution that includes 16 power stages that line up neatly along the top edge of the PCB. The power stages are cooled well enough to sustain a staggering up to 544 W output, which is more than enough to overclock 18-core CPUs into truly extreme territory.

Multi-GPU support

Fully loaded takes on a new meaning when you have over 44 PCI Express lanes stemming from the CPU. Those lanes can be split in an x16/x16/x8 configuration spanning the board's trio of PCIe x16 slots, allowing you to load up on GPUs to accelerate an increasingly diverse array of work.

Achieve speed with onboard M.2

Professional applications require fast solid-state storage, which is why the Prime X299 Edition 30 is equipped with three M.2 slots that are compatible with the latest NVMe SSDs. All slots support longer 110 mm drives, and they can be configured into bootable RAID arrays connected directly to the CPU via Intel VROC technology.

High-speed external storage is required for many workstations, so Prime X299 Edition 30 integrates Thunderbolt™ 3 with up to 40Gbps of aggregate interface bandwidth. The rear I/O panel has dual Thunderbolt 3 Type-C ports that support data in addition to DisplayPort 1.4 output. Up to six devices can be daisy-chained from one Thunderbolt 3 port, with the provision of up to 15W of power for fast-charging devices connected in this way.

The Prime X299 Edition 30 comes with the latest Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200, which is compatible with 802.11ax. Otherwise known as Wi-Fi 6, the new networking protocol pushes theoretical peak bandwidth up to an incredible 2.4 Gbps. Cool to the core

Effective cooling is extremely important, even at stock speeds. That is why the Prime X299 Edition 30 allows consolidated cooling control of the entire system, even for the most hardcore rigs. It comes equipped with onboard heatsinks, an array of fan headers, the Fan Extension Card II, options for water pump and AIO headers.

Since mass and airflow are critically important, our VRM heatsink is manufactured with skived, high aspect ratio thin fins. The hidden 40 mm fan turns on after 60°C. This combination offers optimal cooling for CPU-intensive tasks.

M.2 Heatsinks

Two M.2 slots are covered by heatsinks to combat temperature-induced throttling that can affect performance during heavy, sustained storage loads.

Stack Cool 3+

2oz-copper layers shift heat away from critical components, reducing the temperature by up to 20°C.

Backplate

A reinforced backplate improves the stability of the board, and the included thermal pad efficiently directs heat away from the VRM and other components.
